The Monster in the Woods Part II

"I am truly sorry for disappearing sir." said the hunting kitten, "but there was a squirrel that needed tending to, and this has been such a lonely, lonely quest."

"All is forgiven kitten, but next time you need to tell me where you are going before you go off by yourself in the middle of a dark wood."

"Now, let us venture forth and slay the monster!" said Tayler the Wanderer.

"There's the beast!" exclaimed Tayler, "We must now be ever vigilant, even the slightest snap of a twig may awaken it."

The monster was sleeping like a baby. Unbeknownst to it, certain doom was wandering towards him with a sharp sword.

Tayler the Wanderer slowly crept towards the monster. He was careful not to even snap a single twig.
Tayler the Wanderer studied the monster. He looked for the beast's weakest points, so he would know where to strike.

He crept up to the monster and prepared to strike.
Tayler the Wanderer forgot to watch where he was stepping.
Suddenly...
"Eeeeeeeeeee!"
Luckily, the loud snapping of a twig did not awaken the monster. Tayler the Wanderer raised his sword and readied to strike.

Almost instantly, the monster burst forth from its slumber. It roared very loudly and the kitten trembled in fear. It started attacking Tayler, trying to bite and pinch him.

With all of his might, Tayler ran his sword through the monster.
As the creature fell, Tayler sliced its head off. Tayler the Wanderer found out the hard way that this type of monster had a lot of blood.
"I have found something of interest!" exclaimed the kitten, "A bag of some sort."
"It has gold in it!" said the kitten, "This must be the bag of gold that the monster stole from that poor villager!"
"Give it to me, that is my bag of gold now! I was the one who slayed the monster. I was the one who walked for many days to get to this dark forest. I can't work for free you know, gas prices are soaring!" exclaimed Tayler.

"Oh I am sorry sir!" said the kitten, "Take the bag, I didn't know that we were going to take gold from a villager who lost his house and his family."

"It's not stealing if you don't tell him you found his bag of gold." explained Tayler.

"Gold is easier to eat than poop out." said Cali.

Tayler the Wanderer cleaned up in the rancid stream. At the edge of the forest, the kitten suddenly collapsed.

"What is the matter with you kitten?" asked Tayler, "Why do you lay about when we need to get back on our primary quest?"

"Oh, I have been wounded." said the wounded kitten, "I cut myself while acting cool in front of all of the lady squirrels."

"Why did you not tell me?" asked Tayler, "I would have healed you up right away!"

"Oh, I did not want to seem as stupid as Cali" said the kitten.

"Nobody is stupid as me!" said Cali.

Tayler the Wanderer, the kitten, and Cali journeyed many days back towards the road where they had first met the fleeing villager. They ran into him near the road.

"Did you slay the monster?" he asked, "I saw you battle with him in the dark wood near my old home. I was afraid of injury so I went away."

"Yes we slayed the monster!" proclaimed Tayler.

"Is that my precious bag with 20 gold coins inside of it?" asked the villager.

"No, it is not sir. No it is not."
