The Kitten's Meow Part I
"Tayler! Tayler!" proclaimed the hunting kitten. "I have something to tell you!" |
"What is it?" asked Tayler the Wanderer, "What is so important that you have to pester me?" |
"I have word from the King that he desires you to meet his army at the Shacklebottom outpost, across the river Ingolstadt." said the exasperated kitten. "When does he want me there?" inquired Tayler. "The king needs you there immediately!" belched the kitten, "but, you need to carry me. My little paws are too sensitive to tread long distances on the snow." "Alright, I'll carry you." said Tayler, "But you must be my guide." |
Tayler the Wanderer and the hunting
kitten set off, along with their trustworthy shepherd dog, Cali. "We must go that way, Cali." said Tayler the Wanderer. "Oky doky." said Cali, "Is there food there?" Tayler the Wanderer grumbled something under his breath. |
"We must head east." pointed the kitten. "Why" asked Tayler the Wanderer. "Because of the air, it is warmer this way." said the kitten. They set off eastward. |
"I smell something!" exclaimed Cali. She ran a hundred paces ahead of Tayler the Wanderer. |
"Wait!" yelled Tayler, "We must not separate. There are many evils about." |
"What did you find?" asked Tayler the
Wanderer. "There was a smallish goblin-like creature here." explained Cali, "But it disappeared." "Nonsense!" snapped Tayler, "Goblins always leave a pile of poo wherever they tread." |
The bumbling trio walked until they reached a small frozen lake. |
"I don't recall you saying there was a lake on the way to Shacklebottom outpost." said Tayler. |
"Uhh.... We must go north now. Yes. Now I remember." lied the kitten, "I remember that we are supposed to head north when we encounter a frozen lake." |
The adventurers changed course and headed north. |
Little did they know, something was watching them in the distance. Something fowl and evil. It had an off-green color. |
It was a GOBLIN. "Give me your gold or my lads will give you the taste of cold steel and or wood." bellowed the goblin. |
"Goblins! Ahhhh!" screamed Tayler the
Wanderer. "Don't put me on the snow! Don't put me on the snow! Don't drop me! It is so very cold on my paws!" screamed the kitten. |
Tayler the Wanderer gingerly set the kitten down in a bush. |
The goblins rushed towards Tayler the Wanderer. He barely had enough time to grab his sword. |
"I will defeat you all!" yelled Tayler the Wanderer. |
They all collided in battle. Swords clanged. Logs thumped. |
Swift as an arrow, Tayler the Wanderer
plunged his sword into the lead goblin's head. "Aaaarrrgurgrleash!" cried the goblin. |
Tayler the Wanderer decided to take on the strongest goblin next. With one swift strike, he cleaved the goblin in half. His log holding arm still attached to the log. |
Before the tallest goblin could react, Tayler the Wanderer ran up to him and cut his head right off. |
"Last, and least." said Tayler, "You
will be next, my stumpy little friend." "You cannot defeat me." grumbled the stumpy goblin, "Look at me. Do you know how many battles I have been in? You are gonna---" Before the stumpy goblin could finish his sentence, Tayler the Wanderer did a double front flip and Ka-chopped the stumpy goblins stumps right off of his body. |
